The Jogyesa is the headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. Jogye is the major sect of Korean Zen (Seon) Buddhism.

The Jogyesa Temple is located in the centre of Seoul, so it attracts many international visitors who want to experience Buddhist culture. The temple also runs a Temple-life program for overseas visitors, so we saw many monks all over the temple and Insadong area.

It was a very beautiful temple to visit. The area is small and foreseeable and we like visiting historical places that are still active – it gives the places more soul.
