Åstad Wineyard & Spa is located in the Southern part of Sweden in the area of Åkulla forest nature reserve. It is an organic wine farm but it also has an amazing nature inspired spa, a Michelin restaurant and a hotel.

Just under 3 hours from Copenhagen lies this (somewhat) well kept secret little piece of heaven; Astad Wineyard.

It is a truly unique place in the middle of a forest reserve close to the Falkenberg town. Last year the hotel had an upgrade when Astad Wineyard commissioned Norm Architects to do 14 beautiful “floating” spacious suites with private saunas. Every detail is a perfect blend of Japandi and Scandi esthetic. As an extra feature all the suites has access to the filtered water pond from the private terraces on the water. It is indeed a very nice touch.

The spa is a large area filled with both indoor as well as outdoor saunas, indoor saunas and not to mention the under water sauna. There are various pools in different temperatures and also a small bar serving snacks and drinks. The spa had a much more variated landscape and more options than we had discovered before we entered. One of the best outdoor spas we ever tried for sure.

There is both a Michelin restaurant called Äng and another restaurant called Logen that are available for booking. We were too late with our booking, so we only had the option to try Logen, but it was super nice and the staff was great. Next time we will try and book for Äng, though.

We just came back, but we are already talking about coming back some time next year again. The whole experience was just a 10 out of 10.
