Gyoza mania at Chao Chao restaurant.
There are a very large number of good restaurants to choose from in Kyoto. We ended up at the Chao Chao last night.
The place is tiny but both the food and the atmosphere is spectacular. We had to queue up outside to get a seat and waited almost 1 hour, but it was definitely worth it.
There is a sign outside of the restaurant stating: “This Gyoza won Japan Champion of 2 years in a row”. The winning gyoza in question is a row of mini gyozas strung together. Fresh and house made, it is crispy on the outside with of pork meat and herbs inside -very addictive.
Chao Chao can be found several places in Japan. Find direction to the Kyoto Chao Chao restaurant here.
