The coolest flower shop, I ever saw, just opened in Copenhagen.
Tableau is a newly opened flower shop in the heart of Copenhagen that showcases flora as art. The concept store is designed by architect David Thulstrup (most recently behind the new Noma restaurant). Together with Julius Iversen, he has re-invented the concept of a classic flower shop. Julius the owner of one of the city’s most well-known flower shops, BB Blomster, located right next to Magasin Du Nord.
The unique collaboration has showed very succesful and displays all the flora in the store on custom made podiums. The podiums are all made in either geometric shapes, cold materials or actual stones – as a sharp contrast to the beautiful flowers and plants available to buy at very fair prices. Somehow the raw setting and the cold materials helps elevate to flowers and colours. It’s hard to explain, the pictures show it better.
The custom lighting in the ceiling makes a really nice industrial touch. Also worth mentioning is the bespoke pot-plant formed steel cylinder in the back of the store. The central shaft is filled by a free-standing light sculpture with white bright light.
Everything in the store is for sale, sculptures, podiums, vases and of course flora.
