The new restaurant of Jacqemus and Kaspia that everyone is talking about.
The inspiration is Provence and is designed by the much hyped French Southerner Jacquemus. Simon Porte Jacquemus has brought the carefree, rustic lifestyle of his hometown to the heart of Paris and the café is named after Jacquemus’s favourite colour: Citron.
The space is filled with lemon trees, terracotta pots and cottage-style wooden furniture. On the menu is marinated Mediterranean veggies and sardines, pistachio flans, rosemary lemon tarts and the most perfect cake designed for this place only: a citron cake (literally).
The prices run high and table reservations are not possible, however, if in the Galeries and running low on sucker or in mood for something Provence style, Café Citron feels like a small treat in the middle of the busy Champs-Élysées.
Café Citron, 60 avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris (on the first floor in the Galeries Lafayette).
