(Almost) All great cities has one and Singapore is no exeption: Chinatown!
Where to go for some great hawker dinner? We were advised to go to Chinatown and we did not regretting following this advice.
We went through the area as the sun set (6-7PM) and were really taken by the atmosphere and many small shops along the walking streets. Hands down the cleanest Chinatown we ever saw. Located in a sharp contrast right next to the city business district with low rise buildings, traditional cuisine and culture bursting throughout the narrow streets.
We ended up at the hawker food court called Maxwell’s – a street food heaven. It was hard to choose from all the many many staples of different food. However our dinner was in the end: noodle soup, dumplings and roasted duck, drinks were freshly made juices. What a feast.
