With hundreds and hundreds of options choosing a good hotel in Paris can be a bit tricky.
However Paris does offer a lot of good hotels and even the 2 starred once can be more than comfortable to stay at. I have stayed in many different hotels in different areas, and it has taught me that a central choice is usually a good choice. Because, as it is with most places, Paris is best seen by foot or by bicycle.
Usually I like to stay in the Saint Germain des Prés or Maré areas, but for logistic reasons I decided to try the “Opera area” (arrondissement 10) this time around.
I stayed at the L’Echiquier hotel, which I really enjoyed, because the service was nice, the rooms were cute and the breakfast was very good (which is rare in Paris). The atmosphere was “boutique” although the hotel is quite big (well done). And to add on, the rates were in the low end for a super nice 4-star hotel. I would definitely not mind coming back.
