We tried out an authentic agriturismo.

To divide the long trip to south Puglia, we made a stop over in Margherita di Savoia, a small harbour town north of Bari.

To be honest it was a little bit disappointing for Bjørn and I, since we had different expectations for the room and also the food. But for the girls, it was heaven with a large pool, one big bedroom for all 4 of us and nutella for breakfast.

The agriturismo recommended a small beach restaurant, where we went to have dinner the first evening we arrived (the beach only being 2km away). However, I got SO sick from food poisoning and ended up throwing up all night long. I had to stay in bed the whole following day – luckily inside with airconditioning, since it was 34 degrees – and Bjørn and the girls spend the day by the pool.

Not that great an experience, but not so terrible that we won’t try out another agriturismo on the way some where either…

Now we look forward to drive further south in the Puglia region.
