A new kind of luxury hotel in the heart of Helsinki.
Honestly one of the best places I ever stayed at.
The building it self is beautiful and dating back to the 1840s. Originally it designed by renowned Finnish architect Onni Tarjanne, and it was once home to the Finnish Literature Society. Later it became the printing house for the first Finnish national newspaper. Now, it has been restored with respect for its history, but with a serious modern touch.
The Hotel holds 148 rooms, five suites, furthermore a wine room, poetry room, a spa, a gym and a winter garden. In the winter garden is the hotel bar. Dining options is in the basement Restaurant Andrea, and then there is also St. George Bakery & Bar, a deli and coffee shop. Not to forget this hotel has its very own Monocle store!
Service and staff was so lovely and I already look forward to coming back later this year…
