A hotel in the jungle

Just outsite of Ubud in the middle of Rice fields and  jungle.

The Chapung Se Bali hotel has a unique location just 10 minutes out of Ubud centre.

Originally started out as a private holiday home, and within the last couple of years turned into a boutique 5-star hotel. With an amazing view down the Osh Valley and over the Jungle Fish pool club. All the rooms have a very modern aesthetic and are ideal for a perfect five-star jungle escape. The small boutique resort has a mix of guests from fancy youngsters, retired couples, families and honeymooners. The superior rooms are the only ones without a private pool (where we stay), however the jungle fish club is right below the rooms offering a very large pool and a very comfortable lounge area.

The jungle fish club can also be accessed if you don’t stay at the hotel for a fee. If you stay at the hotel, it is included. The Fish club also has a really nice pool bar/restaurant serving meals and drinks from early morning 07.30AM to 11PM in the evening.

Located right next to the fish club is the spa. The spa offers a long list of treatments and after spending several hours here, I can honestly pass on a recommendation. Obviously, the prices are a bit above the Ubud street level spa prices, however, still very affordable, and comes with the luxurious view of the jungle.

Ubud is a unique destination and a must-visit for all coming to Bali, but staying outside of Ubud is definitely something I suggest you try. Ubud has become super busy and noisy and retreating to this jungle gem after a day on tour or in Ubud downtown feels so good. The hotel offers a shuttle numerous times a day back and forth to Ubud centrum. It only takes 15 minutes.

The staff is super attentive and the service level is beyond. The drinks and food here is also really nice…all things adding up to us wanting to stay longer than planned…
