The Mekong Delta (also knick named the ‘Ricebowl of Vietnam’) is a world of its own that holds mangrove forests teem with a wealth of bird life, remains of Viet Cong bunkers, ornate Khmer pagodas and Buddhist temples reaching for the sky, floating houses, fruit plantages, rice fields, fish farms and so much more for the mere 20 million people that live at the Delta.
We were happy to experience a (very) little part of it today. However, would definitely consider staying over night next time we come here to see more and also experience the floating market (which is only available with a min. of 1 night stay).
