A yakitori restaurant next level.

Traditional yakitori are grilled chicken skewers made from bite sized pieces of meat from all different parts of the chicken. The best yakitori is served at specialty restaurants, known as yakitori-ya. We also enjoyed it at other izakayas and food stands. But this Wabiya Kori Dou was origial yakatori in the very best version we could ever imagine.

The small restaurant in the heart of the Gion district was the place we celebrated a friend’s 40 years birthday. besides being located in the most charming historic area, the restaurant itself was beautiful in 3 tiny floors. The yakitori was SO good, the best we had in Japan. Reservations are recommended.

And just down the end of the street was a karaoke place that we ended up after going through the great dishes of the yakitori restaurant.
